The town of Orvieto is famous for its Renaissance Cathedral and its white wine. This expensively-restored and very attractive farmhouse occupies what must be one of the best hilltop locations in Umbria, giving excellent views over the famous medieval town (pictured). It is situated in large quiet well-kept grounds between Orvieto and Bolsena with its own private lake and has a large garden with extensive lawns.
Interiors are well-designed and make the most of period features with classic and antique furniture, wooden beams and fireplaces. A more recent extension provides a lovely large and bright living room with very large windows. Bedrooms are bright and comfortable. There are two covered terraces (one on each side of the house) and steps lead down to the private pool.
This villa is new for 2008 and pictures were taken in winter.
Accommodation:
On the ground floor, a large open plan area with dining table, fireplace and library, spacious and well-equipped kitchen leading to the garden. Two large living rooms also have direct access to the garden. Two covered terraces have a large covered dining area and external sitting areas.
On the first floor are three bedrooms: a double bedroom with en-suite shower room, a twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom and the master double bedroom with en-suite sunken jacuzzi bath.
Two more bedrooms are in two separate guesthouses: the first, a few paces from the main villa has a sitting room with double sofa bed, 1 double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with bath. The second guesthouse is by the lake and has a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with bath.
Please note: Approximately the last mile of approach to the villa is along gravel roads.
Facilities: 14 x 7 m equipped swimming pool with roman stairs and equipped pergola, Jacuzzi in one of the bathrooms, satellite TV, telephone/fax, washing machine, dishwasher, external oven, 2 barbecues, American fridge with ice making machine.
Surrounding area
The town of Orvieto, famous for its fantastic Renaissance cathedral and for its white wine is visible and a very short drive from the house. The splendid town of Todi is 40 minutes away.
Its strategic location makes it an ideal place from which visit the most beautiful main attractions of three regions, Umbria, North Lazio and South East Tuscany.
