Away from the crowds on the coast is this converted and picturesque house with a lot of charm, every comfort and two swimming pools. It is equipped and furnished to the highest standard and sleeps up to twelve guests. (Smaller numbers and short breaks can also be arranged during the low seasons.) It is set in an enchanting location at the end of a single track lane in a beautiful valley at the foothills of the Sierra de Ronda, a short distance from the medieval town of Ronda, a little more than an hour from Marbella, and about an hour and a half from airports at Malaga, Seville and Jerez.
Surrounded by vines, olive and fig trees, swaying palms and the mulberry tree from which it takes its name, it is a peaceful oasis away from it all. The terraced, organic, gardens are swathed in lavender, thyme, and rosemary and seasonal fruit and vegetables are all available for guests to enjoy. The accommodation is large and spacious and fully equipped kitchens, dining hall, and dining terraces allow for self-catering in style, although meals can also usually be arranged if required. There are six en-suite bedrooms (three air conditioned) with well appointed bathrooms, a large games room; home cinema; Sky TV and WiFi broadband.
Accommodation
The finca consists of a main house and three converted ancillary buildings a few metres apart. The main house has an impressive entrance hall/dining room with double-storey ceiling overlooked by the drawing room and master bedroom galleries, with warmth generated in winter by open fires and under-floor heating. Adjoining this is the very well-equipped main kitchen.
All six double bedrooms have en suite facilities with three shower rooms and three bathrooms. Beds are pocket-sprung and linen is of very good quality. Each bedroom is furnished in an individual style and has its own private terrace or direct access to the gardens. Bedrooms are as follows:
Bedroom 1: upstairs in the main house. 5ft double bed with en suite shower room, roll top bath in the bedroom and adjoining room with daybed.
Bedroom 2: on the ground floor in the main house. Can be either a king size or twin single beds. En suite bathroom with bath and shower.
Bedrooms 3 and 4: each has its own entrance and can be configured as a king size bed or twin single beds. Each bedroom has its own shower room en suite.
Bedroom 5 is in the lower building, next to the games room. It has a 5ft four-poster bed and en suite shower room.
Bedroom 6 is in a separate building with en suite bath and shower room, small living room and sofabed.
The games room in the lower building is equipped with a pool table, a large old wooden football table and a table tennis table. The room opens onto a wide covered terrace - with dining table - which overlooks the infinity swimming pool and the terraced gardens below. There is a second kitchen here and an intimate home cinema with a wide choice of movies in English for all ages.
There are two swimming pools: one is a 13-metre infinity pool with views over the countryside to the mountains in the distance. The second pool is a spring-fed, restored 'alberca' swimming pool. There are 5 acres of terraced gardens planted with sweet-scented lavender, rosemary and thyme.
