A villa of rare quality in Parque Atlantico, one of the most prestigious areas of Quinta do Lago. Designed by one of Portugal's leading classical architects it was completed in 2002. At 700 sq. mts, on three floors it is considerably larger than average. It is fully air-conditioned and equipped and furnished to the highest standard with cable and Sky TV.
The Ria Formosa estuary and nature reserve is a short walk away and you can walk from there along the nature trail to the bridge over the estuary which leads to the miles of unspoiled sandy beach. The San Lorenzo golf course and club house is close by and there are numerous walks and cycle trails for you to enjoy. The main windsurfing lake is also within walking distance. Accommodation
Accommodation is air conditioned throughout and includes
- large entrance hall with a two storey ceiling.
- Large, elegant lounge with patio doors leading to the outside dining area and the pool terrace, with oak flooring, soft furnishings and a magnificent stone and marble fireplace. Desk with telephone and broadband connection.
- Double doors connect the lounge to the adjoining library with home cinema with a large plasma screen and a DVD recorder plus 65 channel cable TV including all the main BBC, Sky and ITV channels.
- Large designer kitchen fully equipped with a fridge freezer, dishwasher, butler sink, microwave, coffee filter and stainless steel range cooker. It also has its own wall-mounted HD plasma TV, table and Vincent Sheppard chairs.
- Patio doors from the kitchen lead to the outdoor dining area and barbecue. There is a second American style larder fridge and wine cooler in the basement where there is also a fully fitted laundry room.
- Four bedrooms, all roughly the same size, one on the ground floor and three on the first floor. Each has its own en-suite bathroom and flat-screen TV with Sky and cable channels. All bedrooms on the first floor have access to their own balcony. Each is designed to a different essentially classical theme with twin beds except the master bedroom which has a four poster double bed.
- The main outdoor dining area is under a shaded pergola on the pool terrace next to the barbecue and close to the kitchen. The teak dining table and comfortable cushioned woven chairs will seat 8.
- There is a second table and chairs seating 6 on the first floor terrace which looks down on the pool.
- The covered terrace next to the pool offers a comfortable place to sit in the shade for a drink or a chat. As this terrace faces West it is a particularly nice place to sit in the early evening watching the sunset.
- In addition there are two outside terraces on the first floor, looking down onto the pool, one with a table and chairs for an al fresco cocktail. From this terrace there is a spiral staircase leading to the roof terrace which provides magnificent 360 degree views of the Quinta do Lago estate, the sea and mountains.
- Landscaped gardens in formal Tuscan style to compliment the classical design of the villa with extensive use of calcada stone paths, box hedging and clipped bushes.
- At the side of the villa is the elegant orange grove garden and behind the pool terrace is a large lawned garden bordered by colourful trees. shrubs and sub tropical plants.
- The pool is in the garden at the back of the villa and is surrounded by a large, sunny pool terrace which comfortably provides the space for the 8 top quality wheeled metal sun loungers. It is a full sized (12m x 6m approx) rectangular pool with underwater lights and curved walk in steps at the shallow end. Cushions for the sun loungers and chairs, as well as 2 parasols, are stored in an adjacent pool room. The pool can be heated as a optional extra but, as it has a solar heating cover, this is not usually necessary in the Summer months. There is a fountain which is operated by electric switch.
