This bergerie stands in a rural setting with its own spacious garden surrounded by fields and woodland. Situated outside the village of Le Beausset, close to the picturesque hilltop villages of La Cadière and Le Castelet, and only 20 minutes drive from the coastal towns of Sanary and Bandol – an area famous for its fabulous wines.

This bergerie stands on the same grounds as a restored mas which is sometimes occupied by the owners. It is a traditional, well-maintained character property with a lovely salt water swimming pool.

The property is in a quiet rural setting about 3km from the village of Le Beausset, which offers many practical facilities including a number of boulangeries, pharmacies, and hairdressers, as well as a helpful tourist office for up-to-date information about local music festivals and cultural events. The village also boasts two large supermarkets (Casino and Carrefour) and a farmers’ cooperative open daily for fresh fruit and vegetables. There is a thriving general market in the village centre every Friday morning and a smaller one each Sunday morning. The Wednesday market in the picturesque port of Sanary (20 km) is worth an early morning visit for a tempting choice of fresh fish. There are several good restaurants within a very short drive of the property, including one with two Michelin-stars and another with one Michelin-star.

Located in the Bandol wine region, famous for its delicious rosé wines and rich red wines, the property is well situated for wine-tasting or touring inland: the attractive perched villages of Le Castellet and La Cadiere are both nearby (15 minutes), whilst Aix-en-Provence with its galleries, museums, and world-renowned summer opera festival is just under an hour away by car.

The coast is also easily accessible: Sanary (20 km), La Ciotat (24 km) and Cassis (28 km) all have beaches, seaside restaurants and opportunities for boat excursions. The military port of Toulon (25 km) is a compelling destination for naval history buffs whilst Marseille (50 km) offers a wide choice of galleries, museums, and restaurants, as well as some thrilling new architecture since becoming European Capital of Culture in 2013 ? if relaxing in the garden gets too much!

Within walking distance of the property, there is a fitness trail (Parcours sportif) in the woods (1 km), and a working Provencal farm museum and nature reserve – La Maison des Quatre Frères (3 km). Other attractions for families include Go-Karting at the nearby famous Circuit Paul Ricard race track, equestrian activities, a Wild West-themed amusement park called the OK Corral (12 km), and the Aqualand water park at Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer (16 km). Ground Floor

  • Spacious living room with comfortable seating, dining furniture and French windows opening onto the private garden. There is no television and the signal for mobile telephones is weak inside the property but reasonably strong from external garden areas. However, the property does have Wi-Fi which works very well for smartphones and laptops.
  • Spacious bedroom (16m²) with a comfortable double bed (140cm) and windows looking onto the garden, with terraced woodland beyond.
  • Bathroom with bath, shower and hand basin.
  • Separate toilet.

First Floor

  • The first-floor bedroom (20m²) may be accessed via its own entrance at the front of the Bergerie or via an external stone staircase leading up from the private terrace. It has one double bed (140cm) and one single bed (90cm).
  • En-suite shower room with double hand basin and separate toilet with hand basin.

Utility space and washing machine and direct access to the upper garden.


  • Good sized garden with private terrace and garden furniture for outdoor meals. Plenty of parking space on the property.
  • Lovely swimming pool (13.5m x 5m x 1 -2m deep). The owners may use the swimming pool for exercise when tenants are not occupying the pool or its surrounding area.
  • Electric BBQ on the patio outside the kitchen.

Notes: Due to the rural setting and proximity to the forest, the owners have installed an electric fence to deter wild boar from entering and damaging the garden and disturbing the inhabitants! Tenants are asked to close the electric fence before nightfall. The swimming pool may occasionally be used by the owners during the letting period.

The sleeping accommodation of this property, with its non-adjacent bedrooms, makes it unsuitable for young children to sleep alone in either room without an adult sleeping in the same room. A cot will be provided for a baby on request.
