Beautifully renovated, traditional Perigord limestone house
set on a hill with wonderful views across the Dordogne countryside, close to
the lively town of Terrasson-Lavilledieu. This home has been elegantly furnished and thoughtfully
equipped, offering a wonderful environment in which to unwind and enjoy the
good things in life – great local food and wines of the Perigord Noir bought
fresh from the local market, eaten al-fresco on a warm summer’s evening; what
could be better! Terrasson is a pretty town on the banks of the River Vezere,
dominated by the Eglise Saint Sour. Weekly market stalls are set out across the
Vieux Pont, there are guided tours of the old town, river boat trips, walks in
the Jardins de l’Imaginaire, and even a chocolate museum to visit. The famous Lascaux Caves are nearby and should not be missed.
The magnificent Chateau Hautefort is just 18 miles away; reputedly the best in
the Dordogne, there are daily tours of the chateau and gardens, or try the
night tours available in summer for an atmospheric evening out.
