Exceptional house in an excellent front-line position with panoramic views of Port Mahon.
In a sensational location in Cala Llonga, front line to the water with panoramic views over the historic bay of Port Mahon, this is a villa of rare quality, furnished to very high standards and offering very attractive views from all the reception rooms, the large terraces and the infinity pool. The house is substantial at 970 m2, with accommodation over 3 floors. Interiors are designed by leading Spanish architects and English interior designers and the results are outstanding, featuring Spanish antiques and artifacts, Morace stone Arches, marble work, Andalucian tiles and restored doors and furniture from old monasteries. All the fabrics are from London’s Chelsea Harbour Design centre.
Accommodation on the ground floor includes:
• The large living room, split over two levels, with sofas, fireplace and floor-to-ceiling glass with views over the Bay and a telescope. Upholstery is in light colours and there is a large coffee table and Persian rugs. Bose music system, Sky television, and a collection of DVD and CDs.
• The kitchen is decorated with Mediterranean blue units and has a large kitchen table topped with hand-painted Spanish tiles.
• Leading off the kitchen is a large covered outside terrace, with separate seating and dining area. Outside speakers for Bose music system.
• Also on the ground floor is the dining room, wood-panelled office with telephone and broadband internet connection, drinks kitchen and laundry room.
• The ground-floor bedroom is designed for wheelchair access and can be configured as a twin or double room. It has an en suite shower room. French doors lead onto a little terrace and via a sloped pathway can also access the outside terraces.
First Floor
• Master bedroom, with a private terrace giving the best views from the house. It is spacious with plenty of light. Two en suite bathrooms, one a shower room and the other a traditional bathroom.
• The guest room is Spanish in style, with dark beams, Queensize double bed and old mahogany bedhead. A small terrace overlooks the bay, and has wooden doors in Moorish style leading to the bathroom, which has a separate shower with Andalucian tiles, hand painted wash basin and a free-standing roll-top bathtub from which you can admire the view.
• Behind the guest bedroom is the fourth bedroom with zip and link beds, so either a twin or Kingsize bed. This room also has a access to a large terrace, though lockable French doors and a shower room with double wash basin and large shower.
• The fifth room is attractively decorated in light colours with damask sheer curtains and floral fabric from Colefax and Fowler. The Kingsize bed has a cream Nordic style cane bedhead, although this bed can be separated into twin beds also. It has a smaller bathroom with bath and shower overhead. This room has no direct access to a terrace, so highly recommended as a children’s room, and is situated behind the master suite.
Lower ground floor
• The lower-ground floor is a separate apartment where the staff live. It is connected to the main house, but can be accessed from a separate front door. At this level is a further bedroom which can be used by guests by arrangement.
Outside
The infinity pool is accessed via a shallower plunge pool featuring a waterfall with water cascading down the rocks into the pool. The large terrace has 10 wheeled teak sun loungers, plenty of occasional tables and a selection of small and large parasols. Next to the poolside are 2 shower rooms and the barbecue area with sink, drinks fridge and counter space. The landscaped garden is full of Mediterranean plants, Fig tree, Agapanthus, Plumbago and Hibiscus plants in terracotta pots surround the pool and a terrace full of Bougainvillea from which a path leads to a private mooring at the end of the garden.
